OUTREACH AND MISSION


CASS CORRIDOR

Cass Corridor takes place the fourth Saturday of every month. Food items, cookies, toiletries, and participants are needed. We encourage you to take the trip to Detroit and deliever the gifts of homemade food, toiletries and your time to people who need it most. If you are interested in helping out, please join us on the dates listed down below.

PAPER PANTRY

Paper Pantry takes place on a Saturday every month (dates down below and on our calendar). Donations of money, single-wrapped paper towels, 4 pack toilet tissue, box(es) of Kleenex, package(s) of paper napkins, small dish soap or laundry detergent are appreciated. Locations rotate each time, so if you are unsure, please do not hesitate to call the office with any questions.

MILL POND MANOR

Mill Pond Manor Dinners take place every other month (dates down below and on our calendar). We provide and serve food to residents of Mill Pond Manor. Donations of money and paper products are needed. Thank you so much for your help and contributions to this dinner. Residents are always excited to see us serving!


EHM SENIOR SOLUTIONS

BRECON VILLAGE: We provide worship on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2 pm. A short service with music, prayers, communion, scripture and a short message are provided. Volunteers for this service would be greatly appreciated.


EVANGELICAL HOME: We provide worship  on the 2nd Sunday every other month at 3 pm. (January, March, May, July, September and November). A short service with music, prayers, scripture and a short message are provided. Volunteers for this service would be greatly appreciated.


FLU VACCINATIONS

EHM will be providing Flu Vaccinations, here at St. Paul, on October 1st, 2017. If you are interested in receiving a vaccination, please sign up ahead of time at the Opportunity Table or with Pastors Pam and Keith. 


RETIREMENT AND LONG TERM CARE WORKSHOP

EHM will also be providing a "Retirement and Long-Term Care Workshop" very soon. We will keep you posted as we learn more.

-October: Neighbors in Need on Oct. 8

-November & December:  SASS food baskets for Thanksgiving & Christmas, Adopt-a-Family through CASS, the Christmas Fund (VOTC)


BACKPACK REPORT

We were able to fill 25 backpacks for  Cass Corridor, 10 backpacks for SASS & will complete 25 school bags for Church World Service.  Just think, you helped 60 young people!


NEIGHBORS IN NEED

NIN offering will be collected on Sun. Oct. 8.  It is a special offering of the United Church of Christ to benefit disadvantaged neighbors of the UCC in the United States & Puerto Rico. 1/3 of the offering is used for American Indian Ministries. The other 2/3 is utilized by the Board of Homeland Ministries, Commission for Racial Justice, Office of Communication & Church in Society, & the Coordinating Center for Women. It supports justice, advocacy, & direct service projects by Justice & Witness Ministries.


CROP WALK

The Saline area CROP Walk will be Sun., Oct. 1.  The donations collected by the walkers will be used to fight hunger around the world through Church World Service.  In the last 20 years, walks  have raised more than $249 million to help struggling families - both around the world and around the corner.  25% of the money raised in the Saline area goes to Saline Area Social Services to help those in need right in our own town.  The walk begins at the First United Methodist Church on Saline Ann Arbor Road with registration at 1:30 p.m. The walk begins at 2:00 p.m. There is a 1 mile & a 3 mile walk.  Refreshments are provided back at the Methodist church as participants finish.  Join the fun with your family and friends by spending an afternoon in the beautiful fall weather helping those who are hungry.
